With proper care, the shingle roof of your house or property can last up to 15 years or longer. Caring for your roof isn't a full-time job, but you need to think about cleaning your shingles yourself or get the help of a professional when you notice discoloration (an indication that algae - either black or green - has taken over). The good news is, proper cleaning of your shingle roof isn't expensive or too difficult.

The concern, that the hard jet of water coming from the pressure washer nozzle is too strong and will loosen or damage the shingles and thus leave the roof porous and vulnerable to rain is not unjustified. Yes, it takes quite a bit of experience to do it properly!

There is a solution to this problem: The SoftWash System. The emphasis here is to apply the correct cleaning solution to do most of the work. Then only soft pressure is applied to the roof to flush away all and any dirt. At Pressure Washing Clearwater we use both systems successfully.

Generally speaking, we advise to consult a professional pressure washing technician. He knows, that different roof tiles and problems at hand require different types of water jets and cleaning solutions. With the right pressure (not too strong, but not too weak either) and a good cleaning solution, almost any roof can be cleaned safely and effectively with a pressure washer.
