How much water does a pressure washer use?

 Hello! Today I am going to answer a question about water usage / consumption when pressure washing. This is something, that often comes up when I talk to a potential customer. The question is usually, "How much water does the pressure washer use?" or "How much water will you need to wash my roof/house/patio, etc.?".

Generally speaking, you cannot accurateöy estimate the precise water usage beforehand since each job is a bit different.

BUT you certainly can expect significantly reduced water consumption when utilizing a pressure washer compared to doing the same job with a srub and a garden hose. For detailed information please check out the video page here on our website:  How-to-videos

To illustrate this, I´d like to draw a comparison:

Car washing: Water usage using a pressure washer vs. a garden hose: 
"A standard garden hose uses about 10 gallons per minute. This means you use 100 gallons of water with only a 10-minute car wash. When you use an automatic shutoff nozzle on your hose, water does not flow continuously while you wash your vehicle, saving as much as 70 gallons per wash. 

Using a power washer can conserve even more water. Power washers use, on average, about 2 to 5 gallons per minute, with a potential savings of up to 80 gallons over using a standard house without an automatic shutoff nozzle."
